Vivarium tempetures

After yesterdays news I have put some thought into what I am going to do to help my reptiles further. I am going to record the temperatures in the vivarium daily so that I can spot a peak before it gets out of hand.

Getting temperatures correct

I have a sad tale to tell the other week we had some really hot days and in one of my crestie vivarium I just couldn't get the temperature down and I lost a crestie.  It was a sad day at my house.

New ideas to try

I read somewhere that you can use sponges as a source of moisture for certain reptiles like leopard geckos.  I thought I would give this a try.  Not found it wonderful the leopards that I have put some sponge into their vivarium aren't really interested in it! So not one that I will be keeping with!

Reptile antics

What funny things that have happened this week is a lesson learned by my son! I had decided to spend more time with my most grumpiest snake, make him less likely to strike was my plan, he was happy in my hands curling around my wrist.  My eldest son (20) decided to spend some time with him as well and let him climb on the banisters when my youngest son (18) decided to poke him (he should know better!) he got the strike he deserved! I think I have some more work to do with this snake though!
